PARD is no stranger to digital night vision technology. From their popular PARD 007 rear add-on to the more advanced DS35 series, they’ve earned a reputation for delivering great kit at decent prices.
With the release of the PARD Night Stalker 4K, they’ve raised the bar even higher. This riflescope packs a punch with a combination of cutting-edge tech, high-definition imaging, and practical features designed to improve your hunting experience, whether you're stalking game the daylight or after dark.
4K Clarity for Day and Night Hunting
What sets the Night Stalker 4K apart is its stunning 3840 x 2160 CMOS sensor, delivering crystal-clear 4K imaging that allows you to see every detail. Whether you're hunting in broad daylight or under the cover of darkness, this scope’s high resolution helps you identify your target with ease, even in low-light conditions. Whether it’s spotting foxes at night or identifying small details from a distance, the screen gives you nice clarity.
Different Models to Suit Every Hunter's Needs
The PARD Night Stalker 4K is available in several configurations, giving hunters the flexibility to choose the model that best fits their needs:
- 50mm Lens (Base 4x Magnification) – This model is perfect for close-range hunting, like small game such as rabbits or other closer range targets.
- 70mm Lens (Base 5.6x Magnification) – The middle-ground option, offering a solid balance of magnification for versatile hunting scenarios, providing enough power for medium to long-range shots without compromising field of view.
- 100mm Lens (Base 7x Magnification) – Designed for long-range precision, this version is ideal for targeting foxes at longer distances, or for hunters who need extra power for detailed shots at extended ranges.
Each model offers the same core features but is tailored to different hunting needs based on the lens size and magnification. Whether you're chasing small game up close, ratting for instance or targeting foxes from a distance, there's a model that will fit your hunt.
Integrated Rangefinder and Ballistic Calculator
Long-range shots demand precision, and the 1200-yard laser rangefinder paired with an onboard ballistics calculator provides just that. The rangefinder allows you to measure distances quickly, while the ballistic calculator takes into account factors like bullet weight, temperature, and elevation to adjust for shot placement. Whether you’re making adjustments for a moving target or calculating the exact impact point, the Night Stalker 4K has you covered.
Tough, Reliable, and Built to Last
Built for the elements, the IP67 waterproof rating and the ability to withstand 6000J recoil means this scope can handle whatever your weapon or the environment throws at it. With a 100mm eye relief and a standard 30mm tube, it mounts easily with standard rings. Its rugged design ensures it performs in harsh weather conditions, making it a go-to choice for hunters who need reliability in the field.
Ergonomics for Seamless Use
Though it looks futuristic with its protruding IR illuminator and LRF module, the Night Stalker 4K is surprisingly ergonomic. The scope mounts just like any traditional riflescope and feels natural in hand. It’s compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry during long hunts. The focus ring features a convenient throw lever for smooth, quick adjustments, and the intuitive button controls make switching between zoom, IR illumination, and recording functions effortless.
Easy Zeroing and Custom Profiles
Setting up the Night Stalker 4K is a breeze. Using the included Picatinny mounting rings, we tested the zeroing process with both the Freeze Function Zeroing and Manual Adjustment Zeroing methods. The Freeze Function allows you to freeze the screen while adjusting the reticle, ensuring quick adjustments to bring your shots in line with the target. On the other hand, Manual Adjustment zeroing is ideal for those used to traditional riflescope adjustments. Once zeroed, transferring settings to another rifle is quick, with no loss in point of impact as long as the correct profile is selected.
Ballistic Calculator for Precision
The Night Stalker 4K’s ballistic calculator allows for highly accurate adjustments for bullet drop at various ranges. When paired with the LRF, it calculates the drop and displays a small cross on the reticle, showing you how much higher to aim for a precise shot. You can either use the original reticle or the new cross for shooting, depending on your preference.
For best results, the ballistic calculator requires several key inputs: muzzle velocity, bullet weight, zeroing distance, and more. While altitude and temperature settings didn’t play a significant role in our tests, fine-tuning the ballistic coefficient for each rifle is essential. For best performance, use a chronograph to measure muzzle velocity and keep your scope height measurements accurate.
On-the-Go Connectivity and App Features
The PardVision 2 app adds another layer of functionality, allowing you to transfer photos and videos to your smartphone, update firmware, and control some functions remotely. Though not as polished as some competitors' apps, the PardVision 2 works well enough for basic needs. For those who prefer faster methods of transferring files, using a MicroSD card or USB cable is more efficient than relying solely on the app.
Real-World Performance: Testing the Scope
Putting the Night Stalker 4K to work, we tested the scope in a variety of conditions. During daylight hours, the 4K sensor offered excellent clarity, letting us distinguish fine details like fox fur and antler size at up to 100 meters. As night fell, the IR illuminator kicked in, producing a sharp black-and-white image that allowed us to identify rabbits and foxes clearly in the dark.
Though the digital zoom functioned well up to 2x, we found that increasing the zoom past 2x led to some loss in image quality, particularly in low-light conditions. This is a common issue for all digital zooms, not just PARD to be fair.
To maintain sharpness during night hunts, we recommend keeping the zoom at 5.6x or lower. As expected, the scope struggled in foggy conditions, a common limitation of digital night vision systems due to the reflection of infrared light, but it performed admirably in clear conditions.
Power and Battery Life for Extended Hunts
The 18650 Li-ion battery provides approximately 5 hours of usage, depending on conditions and settings. To avoid running out of power mid-hunt, it's a good idea to bring spare batteries, especially when hunting in cold weather. Additionally, the USB-C port allows you to connect an external power source, keeping your scope charged and running during longer hunts.
Final Thoughts: A Must-Have Tool for Serious Hunters
For those who take hunting seriously, the PARD Night Stalker 4K is a great choice. From its 4K clarity and integrated rangefinder to its rugged, waterproof build, this riflescope has everything you need for both day and night hunting.
Whether you're out on a long-range shot or hunting foxes at night, the Night Stalker 4K provides the precision and durability. If you're looking for an upgrade to your night vision kit, this has to be on your list to consider.
